Hello everyone. This section is about ecotourism management as tourism is agent of change that may result in both positive and negative impact in a destination. Along side economic benefits, tourism can destroy the resource upon which it is built. These impacts are evidently caused by mismanagement. However, some impacts can be controlled, regulated or directed. If tourism is managed according to the principle of sustainable development, tourism has a potential of being a renewable industry where resource integrity is maintained or even enhanced. After a review Eco-Tourism management issue, the management of tourism faces difficulty due to the nature of the industry that can be divided into different issues including first, the fragmentation of ownership and control; second, the diversity of products and destinations; and lastly, a coordinated development that has been divided between public and private sectors. Besides, there is a seasonal nature of demand in the tourism industry that cause difficulty for destination management. As all facilities have to be installed and started in order to meet peak demand, on the contrary for the rest of the year, the reduced visitor activity cannot sustain the peak level of business. Consequently, long-term availability of seasonal destinations is endangered. As this situation is unlikely to generate cash-flow in business. So that, there is no new money injected to maintain or improve existing facilities from season to season. In some areas, it may lead to the underused of infrastructure which is economically inefficient. However, it can be argued that seasonality is an advantage for the sustainable management of the destination as it can allow the overuse of natural resources, environment a period of time to regenerate and allow people to recover from being entirely involved in the business before the next season. Therefore, in terms of management it is vital to keep in mind the nature of tourism industry and local context that may vary from one place to another. In aspect of ecotourism management, there are two approaches are pointed out here. First, the need to market, the destination to attract visitors, to sustain is tourism business activities. And second, the adoption of administrative method to ensure beneficial form of tourism. In terms of sustainability, the success of destination management depends on dealing with elements of destination which comprise two factors including first, the primary factors that refer to its climate, equality, culture, tradition, architecture, and its land form; and secondly, the secondary factors that refer to all kinds of development, introduced for tourists such as hotel, catering, transport, activity and amusement. Therefore, it is crucial to have better understanding and knowledge of the local context of a destination. Understanding of the context of the destination can be achieved through methods of: first, making decision on specific issue and its elements. To ensure sustainable ecotourism, two types of strategic management and operational management are identified here. First, the strategic management This appeals more to policy and decision making concern, which establishes long and medium goal and the financial material, organisational and cultural parameters consistence with the achievement . It is necessary to define the basic criteria of action, land use specification of infrastructure and conservation of landscape. Second, operational management This is more important for manager working in the tourist industry even though they may be interested in strategic management. The approach involves planning, and implementation of the detail means of ensuring the tourism activities remain within the overall limit of resource used and achieve other sustainable strategic policy objectives. It is seen as being the sharp edge and with the butter of sustainability takes place To be success in sustainable ecotourism management, it should involve four main issues: these are: first, marketing management including the use of the marketing mix and the marketing; second, human resource management including recruitment pay staff management relations and staff guest relations; third, operation management including purchasing policy and environmental practice; and fourth, financial management including investment, appraisal, techniques and budgeting.
