Tourism making economic impact on the region


JOHNSON CITY OFFICIALS SAY MANY LARGE EVENTS THIS FALL HAVE LED TO MORE THAN 5 MILLION DOLLARS OF AN ECONOMIC IMPACT IN OUR REGION. IN JUST SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER ALONE — THE EVENTS WELCOMED MORE THAN 75-HUNDRED VISITORS AND BROUGHT IN 5- POINT-2-5 MILLION DOLLARS. TWO OF THE BIGGEST EVENTS INCLUDE THE “BUILT TO RIDE TOUR” — WHICH REPORTEDLY BROUGHT IN NEARLY 3- THOUSAND PEOPLE AND CAUSED A 3-POINT 7-5 MILLION DOLLAR TOURISM IMPACT. LAST MONTH — THE MARCHING BANDS OF AMERICA COMPETITION AT E-T-S-U ALSO REPORTEDLY BROUGHT IN JUST OVER 1 MILLION DOLLARS. FRIDAY NIGHT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE JUST A NORMAL NIGHT FOR GATE CITY HIGH SCHOOL’S LANDON BLANTON.
