S. Korean tourists to Japan decreased by 5 percent on-year

the number of South Korean visitors to
Japan fell by around five percent during the first five months of 2019 according
to Korea Tourism Organization the number of Koreans traveling to Japan had been
on the rise climbing from 1.6 million in 2011 to 7.5 million and 2018 but this
year only 3.2 million Koreans visited Japan between January and May which has
four point seven percent down from the same period last year and the tourism
industry says that the figure could decrease further as the recent economic
retaliation from Japan has fostered anti-japanese sentiment among South
Koreans Japan was the most visited country by South Koreans last year
followed by Vietnam the US and the Philippines
