N. Korea promotes tourism to Geumgang-san Mountain: Report


North Korea appears to be trying to
revive as tourism industry as a way of addressing the economic challenges of
faces under economic sanctions North Korean propaganda outlet DPRK Today
reported on Monday that the country is resuming tours for foreigners to its
Kumgang some Mountain including the mountains scenic higham Gong River now
it says the tours will start late this month and run through the end of
November and that the four-day program includes hiking fishing and spa
treatments the north promoted a similar tour program last April and her Korean
tour programs have been suspended since the South Korean tourist was shot dead
for allegedly trespassing in 2008
