My name is Jordi and this is Hyekyong and we are the Lifetime Travelmates We quit our jobs, sold everything and now we are travelling the world Now we are travelling in India, so, subscribe and hit the bell if you don’t wanna miss any episode. See you! Our day 2 in Hampi.
We arrived yesterday. And today we start with this “puri bhaji” This “puri” is huge! But it’s empty. “bhaji” and some sauce… chai tea… After some really nice breakfast, we are going to the temple But guess what: Hyekyong just forgot our raincover for our backpack. And I’m a bit pissed. And now we have to go back to the hostel.
Hyekyong: Oh it’s raining! See? Jesus! We never show you when we fight or when we are upset. Hey! Come on! ·”!·$%/& 😡😡😡😡 😩😩😩😩 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♂️ 🙉🙉🙉🙉 Hey! Shut up! See? She doesn’t take her responsibilities and I’m the guilty one. **** it! Lucky for us, it didn’t rain much so we could keep hiking along the ruins, the Tungabhadra river and the temples. We are going to Vijaya Vittala Temple And the surroundings are pretty nice. The river, they say you can cross it walking. But since it rained quite a lot recently you have to take the ferry. But if it rains too much, the ferry doesn’t go so you have to take a tuk tuk or whatever transportation and cross a bridge that we don’t know where it is yet but we are gonna find out. And we keep going! This is so surreal! I feel like I’m in a movie or something. We’ve been walking about 20-30 minutes
to this Vijaya Vittala Temple. The weather is nice! And not many people around! We are lucky that it’s low season and not many tourists. But we can guess…
here, in high season it gets really full. But as you see, we are almost the only ones around. It’s complaint time! I’m gonna explain you something. Yesterday we bought the ticket that gives you access to three of the sites here in Hampi We visited one of the sites, very happy, no problem, it was really good. In the afternoon we were coming here and on the way to Vijaya Vittala Temple it started raining and we couldn’t make it to this Vijaya Vittala Temple. So, we had to go back. it was not good. Even the road.
And we had to return the motorbike. So we didn’t visit this Vittalla Temple The thing is: the ticket is valid for one day. They don’t specify if it’s 24 hours or until evening, or if it’s until night. Or until the site’s closed. But the thing is we came to the ticket office
and we explained our situation. And we asked if we could explaining this… what happened: that it was raining, we couldn’t come. And they didn’t want to let us in. Insisting quite a lot They said that we have to pay the ticket again. It’s quite unfair, I thing Specially because foreigners, or tourists pay 600 rupees per person. And local pay only 40 rupees per person. A big difference. Which I totally understand, I mean, you make money with that but do you think it’s fair that if the ticket is valid for 1 day, and it’s not even 24 hours now letting you in because the previous day you could not. We don’t have access now to the place? I don’t know, we were even asking to talk with the head officer but the ticket counter people said that they are not responsible for that. We think it’s unfair and from this point I think I’m a bit disappointed with this Hampi Tourism. I don’t know, I wanna ask you: what do you think about this? Hyekyong’s softer ways And we ran into one of the tourist guide, he just finished and he was on his way out. And then he explained to us that he’s seen so many cases like us that the travellers didn’t know that the ticket was valid for only one day. And then they came on the other day asking to enter the other site that they didn’t finish the day before. So, if there are so many cases like this I think from the ticket office they have to remind the people buying tickets that the ticket is valid for only one day. I think it’s quite fair, if they inform in advance that the ticket is valid for one day. So, we decided not to enter the temple Because we don’t want to pay 600 rupees again. So we are just gonna walk around Or the tourist guide told us that if you just go uo the hill you can see the good view of the temple So, we are gonna do that. A little bit disappointing honestly. But…well, anyway. I’m still so pissed but, how can I make myself feel better? I mean it’s a shame that… Look at this! The view is still amazing! But I still feel so angry! I don’t know how to control this! 😘 Well, actually, yeah, it’s our fault Because we didn’t check the ticket well It said it’s valid just for one day. And then we didn’t look it up, the ticket well. So, next time: Remember! It’s valid for only one day! Alright? It’s our fault but still for 600 compared to 40, I think you guys could be a bit flexible and if we didn’t make it on the previous day not even 24 hours after, you could be flexible and let us in. Haha, still pissed like me!
No, I think it’s a bit unfair And people can be flexible, we don’t need to be like robots, right? Yes, that’s right. Listen to the people, we are not machines and robots. You can let us in, with the ticket that we bought less that 24 hours ago. Maybe. No? Or maybe a big poster saying that: “We won’t let you in, even if you cannot make it less than 24 hours before” That’s my rant. I don’t know. Ok, let’s I still love you.
I still like India…I’m just disappointed with HAMPI! Let’s get over with this and let’s enjoy the amazing view here. There’s a lot of goats on the rock. We are gonna continue back to hostel, no? Yeah, back to hostel, and get lunch. Dhal fry and South Indian Thali. And then climb up another hills around the hostel. Our anger didn’t last long. In the afternoon we went up to the Matanga Hill which is the highest point in the area with impressive views of the surroundings. It is a 30 minutes climb and it’s another perfect sunset spot. I’m drooling! Oh my god! Oh my god! I need to exercise! The views are so nice! See you up there!
